Dolph Lundgren

Hollywood actor Dolph Lundgren is probably best known for his role as Ivan Drago when he played the Russian Heavyweight Boxing Champion who took on Sylvester Stallone for debut film performance in Rocky IV. Since then he has played a key role in a number of high profile blockbusters including The Punisher, Universal Soldier, and He Man and the Masters of the Universe. Prior to the start of his acting career, that prematurely cut his successful knockdown career short at the age of just 24, Lundgren was one of the most feared knockdown fighters in the world.

At the Second World Tournament in 1979, Lundgren took on the legendary Makoto Nakamura in a classic match that pushed the Japanese Legend all the way and was the hardest fight for Nakamura as he went to claim the first of his two World titles. Following this Lundgren won the most prestigious title available in Europe by winning the heavyweight section at the British Open in 1980 and successfully defended it in 1981, the following year he continued his tournament success by winning the Australian Open and if his acting career would not have interrupted his knockdown career he would have without doubt been one of the favourites at the 3rd World Tournament in 1984.
