British Regional 2009 Report

Congratulations to the Bethnal Green fighters who took part in this years Kyokushin Kai British Regional Knockdown Tournament last weekend. In total we had 5 fighters in the tournament across 4 categories and came away with one 1st place and three 3rd place trophies.

First up in the light weight novice was Taf who come in straight off a night shift and unfortunately lost his first fight. Vic and Tim took part in the novice middleweights and finished joint third. Vic lost his semi-final after a three round battle whilst Tim unfortunately was disqualified having already dropped his opponent twice with knee strikes to the head. Ollie took part in the novice mens heavyweight and fought three great fights of varying length to win the title. Also competing in the regional heavyweight was Kenny Jarvis who again unfortunately was disqualified in his semi-final bout after an accidental strike to the face forced the doctor to withdraw his opponent.
